Our Grands Crus

The Fruehmess, an Itterswiller terroir located on pink sandstone and facing directly South, is a terroir that’s excellently-suited to Riesling, which can attain its full potential and the full range of its mineral character on this soil. Perfect with fish, shellfish and seafood.

Brilliant colour. Dominant mineral nose with backdrop of ripe fruit. Corpulent, powerful and robust on the palate with a degree of austerity. A quality wine, worth cellaring. Guide Gilbert et Gaillard 2009

Our vines on the Kritt, an Eichoffen terroir, are 50 to 60 years old. The Gewurztraminer produced on this silt-clay soil boasts delicate notes of spices and rose on the nose and always maintains a fine balance and excellent minerality on the palate. A great accompaniment for gourmet cooking and foods (strong cheeses, Asian dishes, desserts) as it will bring the flavour out of these dishes without overpowering them.

Pale yellow colour. Varietally typical, inviting nose, evoking exotic fruit (lychee) and flowers (roses). Supple, slightly fruity mouthfeel. Light. Very drinkable. Guide Gilbert et Gaillard 2009.

With its 8 day maceration period, this is a great example of a traditional Alsatian Pinot Noir, somewhere between Red and Rosé in character. Develops fine fruit aromas (raspberry, blackcurrant), relatively well-structured. Served at between 12 and 15° it goes well with white meat, poultry (grilled chicken) and roasts.  Served cooler, it is the perfect partner for a barbecue meal.
